About Scott Stoney MD

As the Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of California Rehabilitation, Inc., since 1991, Dr. Scott Stoney has earned a number of awards. In 2010, he received a Patients’ Choice Award and Compassionate Physician Award. Moreover, the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton honored Dr. Scott Stoney with an Appreciation Award for his role in helping soldiers. 

In addition to receiving recognition for his service, Dr. Scott Stoney has published a number of articles in notable medical journals. As recently as Q3 of 2011, he published “Pain and Bipolar Disorder” in Practical Pain Management, the same journal that published his “Fibromyalgia from a Rehabilitation Standpoint” less than a year earlier. 2010 also saw the publication of his “Fibromyalgia Pathophysiology and Treatment Options” for Pain Scan Journal Monograph. Physicians who read this monograph and pass a test about the monograph receive Continuing Medical Education credits to maintain their license as physicians. 

While fulfilling his duties as the Medical Director and CEO of California Rehabilitation, Inc., Dr. Scott Stoney has served as a member on the Board of Trustees for the National Fibromyalgia Association since 2008 and the Children’s Hospital of Orange County since 2010. He has also been a Senior Medical Editor for Medpedia (www.medpedia.com). Additionally, he joined the Expert Team at Physician.com and Honorary Committee at HonorVet.org in 2011. 

Dr. Scott Stoney also has held positions as the Medical Director of Newport Rehabilitation Hospital from 1999 to 2004, the Medical Director of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian from 1996 to 2003, and a Regional Rehabilitation Consultant for Regency Health Services Inc. from 1996 to 1998. 

Dr. Scott Stoney earned his Doctor of Medicine from Rutgers Medical School, now Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, which is part of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He holds membership in a vast number of organizations, including the American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, International Centre for Child and Family Studies, Staples Center Youth Foundation, and Newport Beach’s St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.
